The M has been open for a little over a week now. I visited there on Saturday, one week after the opening.
It looks great! The place was crowded, which is a good sign for a casino here right now. It is a slightly up-scale locals casino but slightly understated decor wise, not much neon and chrome and glass like the Bellagio. I guess the word is muted or understated elegance.
I really like it and will go back to check out the buffet and other restaurants. The sports bar has a little micro brew going and they even have free drink stations for soft drinks. The cocktail servers are all really good looking, the outfits they have on are amazing and easily as good as Wynns servers.
Complaints? Probably the only thing I can see is not enough cocktail servers but it is unusually crowded and that will fix itself in time. They are also hiring so they might be understaffed anyway.
My friends who worked there during the construction say the rooms are great and I'll take their word for it.

Re: The M Resort and Spa
Sat, March 21, 2009 - 11:37 PMI went back mid week (last Wednesday) and had breakfast at the buffet. the food was OK, the servers were friendly and I had a killer omelet.
I was kind of weirded out by the decor though. In the buffet, there is large amounts of brown Formica. It is a stark contrast to the wall of TV screens with images of everything from tropical fish to ads for restaurants inside M. It reminds me of a crappy unremodeled down town casino cafe.
I stopped to talk to one of the casino floor managers on the way out. He said the look they were going for was kind of old style Vegas. They got it. Haha. Since I'm not a fan of that much brown plastic, I'll just consider it a personal problem. I did enjoy myself so what the heck.
One think I thought was odd, my date noticed that there wasn't any toast. Usually, a buffet will put out a variety of bread next to some toasters, along with jams and such. We asked the server and he said he hears that constantly. I suppose at some time management will add that due to customer input.
At eight bucks, it was a fair deal all things considered and it will be a good place on a Saturday or Sunday morning for locals, plus it is kids friendly.
