techno in vegas?

Hi I just moved to Vegas & I am wondering if there is any sort of techno scene here. I mean techno specifically not breaks/house/trance etc. I am a minimal techno DJ and I spin some more up-tempo tribal techno too. I'm not posting this to self-promote as I don't even have a demo at present, I'd just like to be pointed in the right direction if there is a right direction in which to be pointed. Undergrounds & DJ bars are really what I love as opposed to large crowded clubs/massives.

    Do you have a myspace by any chance? I'm looking to throw some underground parties, but, i'm new to the area and dont know of any venues and I need to get to know who's in the scene out here. My plan was to start with some house parties so I could do just that. I do already have some pretty solid connections though.

        and yah like try icehouse I hear they have a techno night

          From what I've seen there's lots of crappy top-40 and even some decent breaks & house etc., also trance & DnB, but almost no TECHNO per se.

            there is a Rave scene happening
            dunno how good it is but sounds it might be better
            than the strip's clubs

              Yes, I'm aware of this. I was hoping to get more specific directions in terms of techno but it seems like the LV underground has little presence on tribe (aside from burners). From what research I've done there seems to be very little techno around here, which is fine I guess as it means I am likely to have little competition from a DJing standpoint. No audience either lol but whatever.

    Minimal and tribal techno has a dedicated following here.
    Look for the following local dj's:
    DJ Johnny Vibe
    Sarah Fab
    Bongo Bennie
    James Demon
    Ray Nichols

    Right now, Johnny Vibe has been playing out alot. He's a program manager for the UNLV Radio Station where he hosts a show called Future Sound 91.5 on late Saturday nights. He also has a techno-fusion psytrance project called Metal Machines with local psytrance legend, DJ Feather.
